Welcome to the 10th World Perfumery Congress

The World Perfumery Congress is now over. We thank you for your support and participation.

As I have decided that this was my last WPC, I would like to acknowledge several people who have been totally responsible for the fact that WPC became a unique and unrivaled global congress. First, my friend Francis Thibaudeau who has been on board since WPC 2001 without fail. A man always responsive, fast and positive. During more than 10 years, Francis was my voice in Europe, and made my life much easier. Then, Nathalie Chauvel who has been at my side since we started this adventure, in 1996 and who has even more stamina today than fourteen years ago! She is the memory bank of the past WPC's and through the years, she never lost her cool, no matter how high the pressure was! Now to my daughter, Magali Subrenat who joined us five years go and quickly became an instrumental part of the team. All the people who have attended the various WPC know that, no matter what, she never stops smiling! Nathalie and Magali became masters at not getting upset! I hope one day to learn from them!

To all three, I say an huge thank you, I am proud of what we have achieved, but without you, it would not have been possible. A team comprised of just a few people turned an uncertain event in 1998 onto a major global event in 2010! Who would have thought?

Now it's time to turn the page and say goodbye to all of you. I will never forget all these fantastic moments, the thrill of opening a new congress every three years and meet you again, the blood pressure getting higher as we were getting ready....

It is not with a happy heart that I took this decision but we conclude our venture on a very high note as WPC 2010 was a total success, and such wonderful memories will be with me for the rest of my life.
